1. CO2 removed

​When crops grow they naturally draw down billions of tonnes of CO2 every single year.

2. Straw waste is baled

​Unfortunately the vast majority of the CO2 that is drawn down is quickly released back into the atmosphere either through open field burning or decomposition.  Instead of burning the straw waste, farmers bale it ready for processing by Farmed Carbon.

3. Flash microwave pyrolysis

Farmed Carbon’s proprietary mobile pyrolysis technology is transported to the farm where the straw waste is processed and transformed into stable forms of carbon such as bio-bitumen and biochar.

4. Sequestered for millenia

Some of Farmed Carbon’s products remain on the farm where they reduce the need for traditional ammonia based fertilisers. The remainder are sold to various industries as direct replacements for fossil fuel derived products. The carbon that would have been released to the atmosphere is sequestered for thousands of years.
